Sam Fife is a former prosecutor turned criminal defense attorney who brings a unique perspective to every case. He’s dedicated to defending clients and helping them move forward through expungements and experienced legal advocacy.

Sam’s law career started in 2018 after graduating from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.  After graduating, he worked for the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office for a few years, prosecuting misdemeanors, felonies, homicides, and juvenile delinquencies. Sam desired a change in his life and felt the best way to do that would be to try and help make a change in others.  In 2021, he joined a criminal defense firm where he vigorously defended clients charged with numerous different crimes all over the state of Indiana.  Through the ups and downs Sam takes pride in being there for his clients every step of the way and feels confident that he dedicates an effort that others may not. Sam has also assisted hundreds of clients in getting their records expunged and takes great joy in helping people enter a new chapter of their lives, unburdened by their past mistakes.  After a brief stint gaining some experience in civil litigation, he joined the Banks & Brower team as a Criminal Defense Attorney, satisfied that he joined a practice that shares his ethos in helping clients through their struggles.

With Sam having experience as both a prosecutor and a defense attorney, he can get a bird’s eye view of a case that other people may not have. He knows what the prosecution will be looking for and the angles they capitalize on. This allows him to assess the relative strengths and weaknesses of a case from both perspectives.  This has benefitted his clients’ countless times, and he’s ready for it to benefit you, too.  He has experience in almost every county in the state and vast experience litigating many types of crimes, giving him solid relationships with prosecutors.

Sam was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  He attended Northrop High School where he swam for his high school’s swim team. After high school he attended Indiana University and graduated in three years with a Bachelor’s of Arts in History.  Sam then came to Indianapolis for law school, as he felt there was a greater need for his talents here. In his free time, Sam loves playing golf, exercising, watching his favorite sports teams, and being with family.
